Citation & Documenting Information Sources

ASSALAMUALAIKUM WARAHMATULAH WABARAKATUH

Welcome again with peace befalls to all my lovely reader

Now we are on new topic. This is already fifth content. For this space of post, there will be full of formats, because citation information source is our topic for today. It is my honor to share what I have taken from my lecture. I will stress only upon APA style of citation.

There are two types of citing text. They are in-text citation and referencing list. Anyway, I purposely focus only referencing list in form of APA style.
Firstly, I want to rise on APA style’s definition. APA format is the official style of the American Psychological Association (APA) and is commonly used to cite sources in educational approach. The APA style originated in a 1929.
Secondly, it is all about its format. Based on my lecture, there are several formats, but I bring you some to refer.

- BOOKS WITH ONE AUTHOR
Format: Author. (Year). Title of Book. Place of Publication: Publisher.

- BOOKS WITH TWO OR THREE AUTHORS
Format: List all the authors. Use ampersand (&) before the last author. (Year).
Title of the book. Place of Publication: Publisher.

- BOOK WITH MORE THAN SIX AUTHORS
Format: First author until sixth author, et al. (Year). Title. Place of publication:

Publisher.

- CORPORATE BODIES AS AUTHORS
Format: Corporate author. (Year). Title of Book. Place of Publication: Publisher.

- MORE THAN FIRST EDITION
Format: Author. (Year). Title of book. Edition. Place of Publication: Publisher.

- EDITED BOOKS
Format: Editor. (Ed./Eds.). (Year). Title. Place of publication: Publisher.

- JOURNAL ARTICLE
Format: Writer of the article. (Year). Title of the article. Title of the Journal,
                       Volume
(issue/no.), page.

- NEWSPAPER ARTICLE
Format: Writer of the article. (Year, month, day). Title of the article. Title of the
                       newspaper
, page.

These are all APA formats which are commonly used in academic paper, book and so on. These formats are significant to all students who are doing a research paper. Of cause, it functions very well to me in completing my given assignments. With the given information, I can hopefully benefit my readers as well.
